Advice I would give to incoming students...

I would encourage any incoming student to come to orientation week! I remember being excited but so nervous to come to university and orientation week was a great way to make friends, get to know the campus and start creating memories! Mount Allison does an amazing job at accommodating to everyone to ensure incoming students feel welcomed, supported and excited for their first year of university. My favourite part of orientation week was Kareoke dance-off, where each residence performed a dance at a barbecue and the paint night!

How have I changed since coming to Mount A...

I am currently in my second year at Mount Allison and have already noticed how much confidence I have gained since being here. I was nervous that coming to university, I would feel like just a number and get lost in the crowd of students. However, the nature of being at a small, close-knit community has definitely fostered my confidence. It is so easy to get involved in the community or discover a new passion from a distribution class that I feel I've discovered and built on a lot of new strengths.

My favourite thing to do in Sackville is...

Going for coffee at The Black Duck, a coffee shop downtown. The Black Duck is one of Sackville's many coffee shops and has a 'technology-free zone' which is a great place to hang out with friends or study at! I also am always bound to run into someone I know at the Black Duck and get chatting over a cup of coffee for hours!

Favourite Mount A memory (so far)...

Going on trips! There are so many opportunities to travel outside of Sackville through residence, clubs or the International centre. Some of my favourite trips my residence has offered have been the apple picking trip and ski tip which were fully included from my residence fees! Also, by being involved with the international mentorship program, I have been able to go on day trips to Halifax, PEI, a Maple farm, and many other places.
