Being away from home, I’ve grown to be more self-reliant. With all there is to do, and the responsibilities that come with University, I’ve become accustomed to finding balance, and working towards my goals with greater independence.
Take advantage of the resources you have here. There are plenty of opportunities to try something new or to keep doing something that you love, a community of people willing to offer you a helping hand, and a support system designed to help you be the person you want to be.
I was really drawn by the emphasis on a liberal arts education, and the tight-knit environment of a university town. Going into University, I was fairly torn on what I wanted to focus on, and still wanted some flexibility in my degree, so I was excited to try out a range of courses in my first year, and a program in PPE that meant I still had the opportunity to do all the courses I was passionate about.
My summer in Sackville at the end of my second year was filled with so many great memories. From exploring the Maritimes, to meeting new people, and playing senior football (soccer) with a local team, it’s difficult to pick out one favourite.
