Campus Ambassador at Mount Allison University
Class of 2023
Hometown: Nova Scotia, Canada
Major: International Relations
Minor: Psychology
I will have to go with the morning of homecoming, I woke up my roommate with waffles and blasting music… I promise I’m nice (haha) but it set the tone for such a good, high energy day where my friends and I just felt happy. Happy at our school, the weather was perfect, I felt like I belonged and that I made the right decision.
When I came to campus and felt the cozy and welcoming atmosphere, I knew it was the right place for me. The diverse programs offered were exactly what I had been looking for and the friendly community and students just make it that much better.
I have gained interest in topics I never thought I would have interest in and even changed my areas of studies throughout the year based on this. Coming to Mount Allison motivated me to become involved with organizations outside of my comfort zone and made me realize it really isn’t that scary to join new environments/organizations and to get involved. Everyone is there to support you and it ends up being a fun experience all while meeting many new faces.
Put yourself out there more than you usually would, I met so many people I now get to call my friends during Orientation. Take quiet time to yourself to adjust to the transition but don’t get too carried away relaxing because the events Mount Allison hosts (such as the Headphone disco, Sackvegas, the dance competition in O-week, res sports…) are ones you will look back on, being grateful you joined.
