Supporting Local

The global pandemic has affected everyone especially local businesses everywhere. With the closing of two integral Sackville businesses, we have seen at the forefront the negative effects this virus has caused on the local economy

Having money as a student to treat yourself and take advantage of the local restaurants or shops is always difficult. Though, there are lots of deals around town during the week that can reduce spending a lot of money.

The list below is a wide range of my favourite restaurants and cafes:

  • Joeys (All You Can Eat Tuesdays)
  • Cranewood On Main (Donut Friday!)
  • Goya’s (Honey Garlic Fingers)
  • Aida’s Café (Caramel Macchiato)
  • Pi by Crow (Brisket Hand Pi)
  • Bagtown Brewery (Blueberry Soda)
  • Nabi Sushi (Sackville Roll)
  • Mel’s Tearoom (Peanut Butter Orange Milkshake)
  • Cackling Goose (Dairy-Free Grilled Cheese)

The list goes on!

Not only are there lots of great places to eat and drink, but you can also grab a plant for your room at Blooms or a book at Tidewater and Blind Forest Books. Catch a movie at the Vogue with your friends!

The Town of Sackville also holds events throughout the year for the community including ice skating at the Civic Centre. In November there is a sale around town called Moonlight Madness, which gives you the chance to grab some last-minute holiday gifts or something for yourself at a discount.

Within my last few years here, I have found my favourite places to spend time with friends and work on homework. Some of these places I will miss once I leave! Nevertheless, ill be spending plenty of time at my favourite study spots this year with a large amount of coffee.

If you are looking for a little pick me up, or even somewhere to study outside of your room, head downtown, help your local businesses, and brighten your day with a treat!
