Hey, back so soon? It’s time for our final round of Orientation Committee (O-comm) introductions :( but don’t be too sad! We’ll all be here in the fall, awaiting your arrival!! If you miss our lovely faces and intros, be sure to follow the Orientation Instagram @mta.orientation for more content! Okay, okay, let’s get into introducing our last team of smiling folks – meet the Education & Programming subcommittee!

Bryn (she/her)

  • Hometown: Truro, Nova Scotia
  • Year: 3
  • Program: Physics
  • Favourite place in Sackville: My favourite place in Sackville is the Vogue cinema. I love movies and it is such a cute, one screen theatre. They also hold an annual Rocky Horror showing where everyone dresses up and participates by throwing different items in the air.

Sungmin (he/him)

  • Hometown: Moncton, New Brunswick
  • Year: 4
  • Program: Bachelor of Commerce, Honours in Economics
  • Why you love MtAI love MtA because of all the friends and memories I made here. The tight-knit community and friendly people make me feel I belong here.

Charlotte (she/her)

  • Hometown: Virginia Beach, VA
  • Year: 4
  • Program: Biochemistry
  • Why you love MtAI love MtA because of all the research opportunities that are available for undergrad students. In the past two years, I've worked in two different labs!

Truman (he/him)

  • Hometown: Charlottetown, PEI
  • Year: 4
  • Program: Biology
  • Favourite part of O week: Scavenger hunt!

Fiona (she/her)

  • Hometown: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
  • Year: 4
  • Program: Bachelor of Music
  • Advice for incoming students: One of my biggest tips is to try and put yourself out there! At a small school like MtA, there are so many opportunities to get involved! Not to mention, getting involved is the best way to meet new friends who are probably in the same boat as you - don't be afraid to reach out!

Laura (she/her)

  • Hometown: Toronto, Ontario
  • Year: 3
  • Program: History
  • Advice for incoming students: Don’t be nervous to try something new! MtA has lots of stuff to offer that might be outside of your comfort zone but it is always worth it!!
