  • Advice for incoming students: It is imperative to include both academic and personal time into your schedule. Whether it feels like it at the moment or not, time will move incredibly fast as you progress through your career at Mount Allison. You are about to have a remarkable number of opportunities opening up to you both on and off campus. I think it is always essential to go after whatever interests you.  There is no harm in trying things, and in most situations, there is no commitment, so if it turns out not to be for you, it is alright to move on to something else that piques your interest. Try to experience as much as you can with the time you have. I have always found that some of the greatest disappointments are the opportunities I have turned down, but in saying that, follow your intuition because only you can decide what's best for you in each stage of your life. I want to premise this by saying that it is perfectly alright to add personal or self-care into your schedule, whether it be doing something you enjoy or simply having a night in. It is so easy to get too involved or overwhelmed by your schoolwork and obligations, but you have to take care of yourself in order to be able to do your best.
