Fighting Mid-Semester Exhaustion

We are heading into the ninth week of the semester and the exhaustion is setting in. I know I am not the only one feeling this way. The beginning of the semester was hectic enough while trying to adjust to different types of learning. By week four, I was finally able to get organized and settle into the semester ahead. Though here we are with only a 1/3 of the term left, the end seems so far away.

Deadlines, mid-terms, and end of term projects are coming up. The most important thing is to take care of your mental and physical health.  Here are some ways of coping with the mid-semester stress:

  • Ask for an extension
  • Go to virtual office hours
  • Go outside
  • Exercise
  • Drink water!
  • Watch a movie
  • Bake some treats or cook a new recipe
  • Listen to your favorite music
  • Write down your weekly goals
  • Try and get enough sleep
  • Watch a movie or your favourite show
  • Do a self-care night
  • Reward yourself when completing milestones

The main thing is to be kind to yourself and others. Try not to worry about a bad mark. If you are having a stressful day or week, try something from the list! The holidays are just around the corner. We got this!
